This talk will describe actual design concpets and problems, give an overview of existing attacks to digital meters, as well as outline existing security problems and risks. We'll also take a look at upcomming attacks and attack vectors including update problems, secure monotholic forward counters, secure mesh networks, replay attacks, and integrity.

Franz 'hamtitampti' Lehner is 37 years old and from Austria. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, and has been paticipating in the Xbox/GameCube Linux project since the very beginning, while being part of the Xbox Security Breaking. Franz works at Ikarus Security Software in the field of embedded security design.
